Every individual in our learning community is valued and an integral part of our school district. With small class sizes and state-of-the-art classrooms, our teachers and staff partner with families to support every child. New Temple Elementary and Dean L. Shively Middle School have earned Title I Academic Achievement Awards and have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools and California Gold Ribbon Schools. Valle Lindo is also one of only six districts nationwide to receive the Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase District award.

Students benefit from student-centered instruction in all core content areas, strengthened schoolwide by AVID strategies that build organization, literacy, and college and career readiness, and enriched by distinctive programs such as our Mandarin Dual Immersion program at New Temple Elementary, a Visual and Performing Arts elective strand at Dean L. Shively Middle School, and Skilled to Build at Shively, which introduces students to careers in the trades and engineering. Our students also enjoy Dual Enrollment and CTE Pathways in partnership with Rio Hondo College, along with our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, which extends enrichment, academics, and a safe, engaging environment beyond the school day at no cost to families.

Valle Lindo School District recognizes that students learn best when they feel a sense of belonging. Through our long-standing PAWS Program and Capturing Kids' Hearts practices, we nurture the whole child while proactively engaging with our community to learn and grow together. Through technology integration, innovative instruction, a rigorous curriculum, and strong social-emotional support, our students continue to achieve academic and personal success and to turn every challenge into an opportunity to grow.
