Dear Shively Families,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! This year will bring many new opportunities to learn and grow as a school community. While this fall will look significantly different than years in the past, our commitment to academic excellence remains the same. Our teachers and staff have been preparing and are eagerly awaiting the first day of school. Our virtual learning program has been revamped and greatly expanded. All students will be required to login to their virtual classroom on their Chromebook every day to work with teachers and classmates using Google Meet in live time.
Students will participate in teacher-led interactive lessons Monday through Thursday. All students are expected to be online from 8:00am to 2:30pm. Instruction will take place face-to-face, meaning students are required to attend all 6 periods and must utilize the screen-cam function on their Chromebook. Fridays will begin with a homeroom class meeting and be followed by a series of independent assignments customized to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
Your partnership and support are key elements to ensuring that we are able to maximize each student’s educational development. It is a privilege to serve as your principal and I am thankful to be a partner in your child’s educational journey.
